Claudia Riegler - (July 16, 1976)...4 World Cup wins...all slalom, all day for Riegler...another one of the Austrians who got away...unable to crack the Austrian Ski Team, despite being the ’92 Austrian junior SL champ, Riegler decided to take advantage of her dual citizenship and race for New Zealand, her mother’s homeland...there also had been a brief flirtation with track as a hurdler, but skiing won out...she talks of a post-racing career in business, perhaps marketing, and the hassles she had to overcome in paying her own way to get started for New Zealand gave her great insight into the financial side of things...she’s skied in the last two Olympics and had the same result - DNF-2 in SL...
