Dear Journalist, Welcome to Aspen and the Cafè de Colombia Ski World Cup 2000 Chevy Truck Aspen Winternational. Ajax (Aspen Mountain) is the venue for the fastest women skiers in the world in two events, the super G and slalom, November 23-25. Both courses are guaranteed to challenge racers and excite spectators as the Aspen community goes all out to support World Cup ski racing on its flagship mountain. In addition to a lineup of top international ski racers, we are happy to celebrate the appearance of local competitor Alex Shaffer, who grew up on a ranch here and began her racing career as a member of the Aspen Valley Ski Club. Shaffer will join U.S. Ski Team headliner Picabo Street, who is scheduled to make her comeback on the World Cup circuit after a two-year hiatus. While visiting for race coverage, journalists are invited to familiarize themselves with the vast array of amenities Aspen has to offer and to enjoy our community spirit and international flavor. The Aspen Skiing Company staff will extend every opportunity to provide visiting journalists with a wide sampling of our many attractions. Please call on us at for any and all of your needs during your World Cup visit. Sincerely, Rose Abello, Chief of Press P.S. Aspen will be a pre-Olympic venue in 2001 when we hold Men’s and Women’s GS and Slalom races November 22-26. Don’t miss it! Back to Table of Contents
